Beloved singer, musician, and poet Yannis Angelakas sends his own message by posing in the T-shirt—a symbol of the campaign “No industrial wind turbines on Kythera!”.
The team posted the photo Dynamo - Kythira accompanied by the comment:
«The TERNA, KOPELOUZOS, and ELLAKTOR groups want to “invest” in the island by turning it into a factory.".
I WON'T CRY, I WON'T BE AFRAID
»Thank you, Yiannis Angelakas, for your support!"
The T-shirts are available at the Mazzipetti store in Potamos and the Sparagouai store in Chora. The proceeds from the sale will go toward the legal expenses of the case.
The message of opposition to the plans for massive wind farms on Kythira is spreading rapidly. The collectives Dynamo Kythira and Kythera Wind Turbines they've taken care of that. The T-shirts they’re selling to support the fight against the industrialization of the island have been flying off the shelves! In fact, it has now become… a tradition for residents to wear them, take photos while wearing them, and share them on social media.
As these groups often point out: «The island of Kythera does not say no to renewable energy sources. It says no to its conversion into a power plant and the production of energy 90 times over its needs from 140 industrial-type wind turbines.».
