The need to ensure that the Fofi Gennimata's legacy for unity and the KINAL to move forward united and strong, said today from Chania, the first stop of his tour in Crete, the candidate for the leadership of the Movement for Change, Pavlos Geroulanos.
Geroulanos referred to the procedures for the election of the new leadership, noting that it is a celebration of democracy.
As he pointed out, «the process is a democratic process, it is a wonderful process and it should be kept as a celebration of democracy with a meaningful dialogue, with real commitment to what the party stands for, democratic, open procedures that invite everyone to vote, so that we give strength and authority to the process. I believe that so far we have done well. Let us keep the same style in the coming weeks because this is the legacy we are taking from Fofi Gennimata, the legacy of unity that we must ensure in every possible way, so that we can move forward united and strong».
The candidate for the leadership of Kinal, was at the graves of the Venizelos, in Akrotiri, where he referred to the visions of the Venizelos: «I begin my tour in Crete from the graves of the Venizelos, a place which symbolizes all the democratic ideals for which we have fought and for which our party has fought. Ideals that we must keep alive and bring to the present day. We must translate them into political proposals that can take Greece forward. We are talking about people who envisioned a very different Greece, who believed in it in the face of all the hardships that existed at the time and who managed through their work to achieve the goals they set. These are the kind of goals we need to set today, instead of looking back and repeating the mistakes of the past, to think radically, to think democratically and to move the country forward, based on these principles and values, for which Eleftherios and Sophocles Venizelos fought and gave their lives.».
Mr Geroulanos met with citizens in Chania, while His next stops today are Rethymno and Heraklion.
