The Kythera Hospital is in full operational readiness in view of the increased risk of fire on the island, as confirmed at an emergency meeting on August 7 at the base of the Fire Brigade. Read in detail in the press release of the administration.

In an emergency meeting, which took place at the base of the Kythera Fire Brigade, yesterday 07 August at 21.30, the Governor of the Kythera Hospital, Mr. Koukoulis. The topic discussed was the preparation and coordination between the public services and bodies involved in Kythera for the prevention and response to fire risk during the next three days.
The Governor informed the participants of the meeting that our Hospital will be on alert and in constant operational readiness, in order to provide its services in the best possible way in the event of a fire. He also noted that, during the last particularly difficult situation faced by our island, the management and staff of our Hospital were in increased readiness with the reinforcement of medical, nursing and technical staff, responded fully and successfully to emergencies arising from the fire front.
Today, August 08, Mr Koukoulis had a constructive cooperation with the Governor of the «Andreas Syngros» Hospital, our compatriot Professor, Mr Alexander General, who was kind enough to visit our Hospital. The Professor proposed to offer his good services in matters of concern to our Organization, due to his high prestige in the scientific and political field. He also had a meeting with the Pediatrician, Mrs. Leah Castrisiu, with whom they discussed the development of a close collaboration from the Fall in the Dermatology field. In conclusion, we ask the residents and visitors of our island to be particularly careful during these days, during which strong winds will blow and Kythera will be at risk level five (5) for fire.
