A new site
Years ago two valuable people settled in our place, two of those who found their way to Kythera very easily. Children of the big city chose Kythera, which kept them forever. Dimitris and Carolina. Multi-talented, cultured, civilized, they integrated very quickly and very easily into our small society, they loved us as we are with our merits and our faults, they entered our mentality, the Kytheraic psyche, they sang to us and satirized us in a brilliant and graceful way, they offered invaluable services to secondary education, they studied our flora, the springs of Kythera and the natural wealth of the island in general, they wrote books, staged performances, built sets, set up wonderful puppet theatres, entertained young and old, even wrote music for a student performance of ancient tragedy!
Apart from being an educator, Karolina offered much to the Local Archive of Kythera, serving with love and passion and publishing primary archival material. Now retired, she has all the time she needs to pursue her great talent, painting. Kythera, with its mythology, tradition, nature, everyday life and simple, charming people, is a source of inspiration. Recently the great artist has launched a website, which is worth visiting.
