The Municipal Party “Free Kythera” issued a press release, in which it expresses its concerns about the operation of the Kythera and Antikythera Property Fund (EEPKA). The faction expresses its dissatisfaction with the recent report of the ECCU, as it considers it to be contrary to the basic programmatic principles of the faction, which include proper planning, financial transparency, social justice, active participation of citizens and protection of the environment.
The party stresses the need for a new development approach, which will not focus on «defence of the acquis», but on cooperation and participatory management. It criticises individual choices and the agenda that has been followed so far, while “Free Kythera” calls for persons without dependencies, who can contribute to a unifying, creative and just society.
In this context, the faction proposes for the position of President of EEPKA the candidacy of Eleni Tallarou, Civil Engineer, who comes from Drimonas Kythera. Ms Tallarou has a rich CV, having graduated from Kythera High School and the National Technical University of Athens as a Civil Engineer. For the last two years she has been in charge of engineering for public and private projects. In the last elections she was a candidate for the Free Kythera and received 154 votes.
“Free Kythera” calls on the electorate to support this choice, aiming for an administration based on principles such as transparency, participation and cooperation, in order to ensure the sustainable development of the place.
The following is the release of the parataxis:
Press Release Free Kythera for the elections of the EUPKA
Many of the actions included in the recent report of the Chamber have managed to go against all our programmatic principles (planning, economic transparency, social justice, citizen participation in decision-making, environmental protection) and therefore the functioning of the institution is far from what we as a party consider ideal. Because in addition to the given personal integrity of the members of the Board of Directors and despite any positive sign, we consider necessary 1. the existence of a development vision instead of a defence of the acquis, 3. a perception of cooperation instead of individual choices and agendas, 3. the ability to plan and a modern way of management (with a combination of technocratic support and participatory processes). Moreover, we consider it self-evident that all strategic positions for the development of our small country should be filled by persons free of bills and dependencies (however much this is promoted - of course! - as an asset by the party mechanisms themselves) who will look us in the eye, create beauty, unite and not divide our small society.
From the above it is obvious that the EC will nominate a candidate for the position of President according to our understanding of the importance and the desired way of functioning of the EESC.
Our proposal is Tallarou Eleni, Civil Engineer, 29 years old, raised in Drymonas Kythera.
We call on the electorate of all factions of our Municipality to embrace this choice.
