Kythera has again been «honored» in the press, as in today's edition of the Newspaper of the Editors, a comment by an editor who mentions the situation at the Kythera State Airport, regarding the operation of the canteen. More specifically, the author comments on the fact that there is no longer a canteen in the terminal of the airport “Alexandros Onassis”, while there is no possibility to buy water. Does the Civil Aviation Authority see this? What does the Ministry of Infrastructure say? Should they solve the problem with artificial intelligence? The Ministry must provide solutions now. A ministerial decision is enough to speed up the reopening of the canteen. Read the commentary as published.
WATER... A LITTLE WATER!
So let's agree that tourism is the engine of the Greek economy. But steam engines also need water. And there is no water, at least as far as the airport of Kythera is concerned. And it doesn't have any because the small café that served travellers stopped operating in the run-up to summer. There is no vending machine and the nearest shop selling water, coffee, soft drinks etc. is 5 km away. How sadistic does one have to be to leave so many people without water in the summer in Greece? How much?;
Private citizen gave a temporary solution
In his honor, a professional from Tsirigoi offered a refrigerator with a sufficient amount of water to our airport. This information we have just received today, and it remains unknown when the canteen will reopen, since the bureaucracy and the lack of responsiveness of the YPA is well known to us, as we have highlighted in other airport issues over the last three years.
