With the summer edition of 2025, the English-Greek cultural newspaper Kythera Summer Edition (KSE) celebrates over 30 years of uninterrupted presence in Kythera, remaining firmly at the forefront of information, local culture and defending the character of the island.
Launched in 1993, KSE has been from the beginning an independent and free community newspaper, with the aim of keeping open the channels of communication between Kythirians, Kythirians and the Diaspora.
Contents of Edition 2025:
This year's summer edition includes:
- Portrait of a former diplomat and best-selling author who chose Kythera as his permanent residence.
- A report on the power of symphonic music and how it brings the people of the island together.
- Presentation of the natural history museum founded by Robin Tzannes.
- Photo tour of small churches and article about the traditional watermills of Mylopotamos.
- Guide to the festivals, festivals, exhibitions and events of the Friends of Kythera Museums.
- A story of memory for Jacqueline Andronicus' grandfather, which acts as a bridge to the new Kythera Migration Museum Archive.
Stable opposition to Industrial Wind Turbines
The newspaper reiterates its support for the struggle against the installation of industrial wind turbines in Kythera, stressing that this is a critical threat to the landscape and the sustainable development of the island.
At the same time, it records the public consultations of the National Planning Authority, concerning the scenarios of the Local Urban Plan of Kythera - a process that will deeply affect the image and land use on the island for decades to come.
Dedication to information and Hellenism
With articles by dozens of editors, Greek and foreign friends of Kythera, KSE remains true to its values:

The brochure refers meaningfully to the «Pandora's box» and states that its mission is to keep it... sealed, protecting what is authentic on the island.
