With much discussion but without tension, the meeting of the Kythera Municipal Council took place on Monday 27 October 2025, with issues that mainly concerned administrative, financial and operational arrangements of the Municipality.
Central points were the re-approval of the Internal Service Regulations (ISR), following the observations of the Decentralised Administration, and the amending the decision on housing benefit, which will eventually be given only to substitute teachers, as required by law.
The Council also approved, by a majority, the 4th revision of the 2025 budget to cover energy and operating costs, while the following were approved quarterly financial data, with the opposition pointing to a low level of implementation.
The following was unanimously adopted the participation of the Municipality in the process of leasing the building of the Province for the accommodation of the Police Department, as well as three building certificates within settlements.
The meeting concluded with remarks on the need to speed up projects and better energy management, while the issue of road certificates affecting building permits was requested to be raised at the next meeting.
