1.Le Salon Du Randonneur 2022 (Lyon 25-27/03/2022)
For three days, the Municipality of Kythira and the trails of our island were close to the French hiking public, in the context of the most specialized hiking tourism exhibition in Europe “Le Salon Du Randonneur 2022”, which this year attracted almost 15,000 visitors. The Kythera pavilion was visited by thousands of visitors to the exhibition, discovering the treasure of its trails. The Paths of Greece team provided the necessary organization and support for the pavilion. The Paths of Greece, (https://kytheratrails.gr), today constitute the most organized tourist activity offered to the visitors of the island. ERT in a live link spoke with the manager of the pavilion, thus promoting Kythera and its trails.
2.IMTM 2022 (Tel Aviv 29-30/03/2022)
On 29 and 30 March, the Municipality of Kythera and the CeriGO Accommodation Association, were at the IMTM 2022 International Exhibition held in Tel Aviv.
The Municipality of Kythera, which covered the costs of the pavilion as co-sponsor of the EOT, was represented by The Mayor of Kythera, Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis and the CeriGO Association, by its President, Mrs. Vanessa Raikou. The exhibition attracted thousands of visitors and professionals of the tourism industry, who among other things received information about the island of Kythera, its attractions, infrastructure and services.
The national TV channel IONIAN TV, presented live from the exhibition the Mayor of Kythera who analysed the the potential for the penetration of Kythera in the Israeli tourism market according to the facilities that the island can offer to this audience.
In the framework of the exhibition, a meeting was held with the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Vasilis Kikilias and its executives EEA, as well as with tour operators and Israeli representatives airlines, with the aim of creating synergies and partnerships with Kythera.
The tourist market of Israel tends to be an important factor for the tourist product of Kythera as very remarkable investments from this country will soon begin to be implemented on our island, investments that will respect the local culture, the natural and man-made environment, the particular local architecture and at the same time will be an occasion for high quality tourism throughout the year, contributing substantially to the the vision of the Municipal Authority for sustainable and multi-level development, which is not based exclusively on mass tourism in the summer season, but will extend beyond it.
New tourist website
On the occasion of these exhibitions, the Municipality launched the operation of its new tourist website www.destinationkythira.gr
The new website will be the a living cell of the tourist identity of Kythera and Antikythera. Through this website, which will change and adapt to the seasons and the activities related to tourism on the islands, the visitor will be informed about everything he can see and enjoy, as well as the facilities and services offered by our place.
The electronic design of the website, which has already received excellent feedback, was implemented by the digital systems graduate of the University of Piraeus, Alexandros Gianniotis according to the instructions of the Department of Planning & Coordination of Tourism Promotion of the Greek National Tourism Organisation.
Finally, on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of the Easter, our Municipality is starting the implementation of the press and media promotion programme, which will be announced in more detail.
