The management, employees, and associates of Kythera.News condemn the cowardly attack by unknown individuals, resulting in the malicious damage to property (destruction of private vehicles using chemicals) of our fellow citizen and colleague Mr. Panagiotis Politis, owner and operator of the local Kythira radio station «Adelin,» in the early hours of Sunday, June 6, 2021. We stand by him, his family, and his colleagues and join forces with them.
Such criminal acts, which may be intended to intimidate, silence, and ultimately destroy all democratic freedoms of expression and journalism, have no place in Kythira or anywhere else.
The police must do their duty and bring those responsible to justice.
Recently, there has been an increase in crime in Kythira. Less than a month has passed since the previous incident involving theft – break-in at the former Home Economics School of Mylopotamos.
Both the Piraeus Police Department and the municipal authorities should take these events seriously and immediately request an increase in police patrols in Kythira.
