According to the Meteorological Service of the National Observatory of Athens – meteo.gr, today, February 17, 2024, cloudy conditions are expected in the eastern and southern parts of the country, with local and light rain in the Sporades, Eastern Magnesia, Euboea, Boeotia, Northern Attica, the southernmost parts of the Peloponnese, the Cyclades, Crete, and the Dodecanese. The conditions are expected to gradually subside by evening in most areas; however, in Crete, the conditions will persist locally. In the remaining areas, the weather will be generally clear.
Temperatures will range from -4 to 11 degrees Celsius in Western Macedonia, from -3 to 15 degrees Celsius in the rest of Northern Greece, in Epirus from -2 to 15 degrees Celsius, in Thessaly from -3 to 14 degrees Celsius, in the rest of mainland Greece from -2 to 15 degrees Celsius, in the Ionian Islands from 2 to 14 degrees Celsius, in the islands of the Northern and Eastern Aegean from 3 to 11 degrees Celsius, and in the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and Crete, from 5 to 15–16 degrees Celsius.
Winds in the Aegean Sea will blow from generally northerly directions at speeds of up to 6 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, winds will blow from generally northwesterly directions, reaching speeds of up to 3 Beaufort and locally 4 Beaufort.
Attica and Thessaloniki
In Attica, we expect cloudy skies with local showers in the northern part of the prefecture until midday. Winds will blow from generally northerly directions at speeds of up to 3–4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 7 to 14–15 degrees Celsius, but in the northern and eastern parts of the prefecture, they will be 2–3 degrees lower.
In Thessaloniki, we expect generally clear weather. Winds will blow from various directions at speeds of up to 2 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius.
