E. Harhalakis: «I have already asked to intensify controls on the implementation of the measures»

Adopting conspiracy theories and pseudoscience is CRIMINAL.

On Tuesday night the Mayor of Kythira Efstratios Charhalakis made a statement on the epidemiological picture in the country and especially on the island:

«The rapid increase in cases of coronavirus no longer leaves any room for complacency for any of us. The virus is dangerous, deadly, devastating. Adopting conspiracy theories and pseudoscience is CRIMINAL. The association of vaccines and medical procedures with issues of doctrine and Christian morality is STUPID to say the least. We will not allow anyone - ANYONE - to endanger public health and social normality, with its pseudo-scientific theories, with the misinterpretation of scientific data (and even by non-scientists), with the promotion of science fiction ideologies.

In the last few days the cases are increasing on our island. I have already asked the competent authorities to intensify controls to ensure that health protection measures are strictly applied.. At the same time, I appeal to everyone to be vaccinated, both for the 3rd dose and for an initial vaccination for those who are still hesitant. Vaccination is the only scientifically proven and reliable response to the pandemic. VACCINATION IS AN ACT OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR US, OUR FAMILY AND OUR SOCIETY!”
