In a press release issued by the Kythera Island Tourist Accommodation Association «CeriGo», warmly thanks all those involved in the aerobic events that recently took place on the island, within the framework of the celebrating 50 years of operation of the airport. Special mention is made to Mr. Stavros Paizano, Airport Manager, Mr. Zacharias Souris, head of the Organizing Committee of the events, Mr. Nikos Makrakis, President of ELAO, as well as members of the Board of the Association, such as Mr. Vrettos Slave but also people who are not its members, such as Mrs. Athanasia Protopsaltis, who have worked hard, each from their own position, to bring such an important initiative to fruition.
On the other hand, however, he regrets that the Municipality (and the Tourism Committee did not offer any substantial assistance in the promotion of such an important event for the tourist events of the country, which, I must say, is a great innovation that offers new prospects for the tourist product of the Kythira.
Disappointment, however, expressed the Association and the attitude of the Domestic Property Committee, which, according to the statement, went so far as to break its original promise to sponsor 3 meals for the aerialists, meals which, in the end, were provided by CeriGo Association, through a «personal sponsorship» of its President, Mrs. Vanessa Raiku.
