Last season's big hit returns for 10 performances only. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Iakovos Campanellis, the cultural organization Twilight in collaboration with Theatrical Scenes present a great theatrical project, from 9 to 20 November.
The «Karolos Kun» award-winning director, Christos Sugaris, and the internationally acclaimed soloist and composer Stefanos Korkolis, sign a special version of the most emblematic work of modern Greek theatre, the «Court of Miracles», in the form of a musical.
With them, a unique staff of collaborators and protagonists.
Ο Gerasimos Evangelatos in the lyrics, the Marissa Triantaphyllidou in the dramaturgy and the Fokas Evangelinos in the choreographies. The sets and costumes are designed by Eleni Manolopoulou, while the lighting is provided by Alekos Anastasiou. Starring George Gallos, Alexandros Bourdumis, Katerina Papoutsaki, Roula Pateraki, Manos Vakousis, Maria Diakopanagiotou and the international mezzo soprano Irini Karagiannis. The Court of Miracles by Iakovos Campanelis is a hymn to the perpetual effort of the Greek to overcome narrow geographical boundaries, to shake off perpetual poverty, to face the lack of stability and to put down roots in a place where he can prosper. The high ethos of the play's characters and their passions is based on the lack of stability and certainty that characterizes our lives, which begins with our erratic climate, our ‘strategic’ geographical location, the poverty of our land and ends in our private economy. Everything in Greece goes up and down very easily, rolls over, goes away - and our most frequent longing is to settle down somewhere, to make sure that from now on ‘everything will be fine’.

A few words about the director Christos Sougaris
Christos Sugaris is a professional actor and director. He has collaborated with most Greek directors over the last 25 years, in productions of the National Theatre, the National Theatre, the Athens Festival, the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens Concert Hall and the Athens House of Arts and Letters. To date he has directed Euripides‘ ’Bacchae’, Sophocles’ ‘Oedipus Tyrannus’ and ’Ajax’, Moliere's ‘Don Juan’, ’Court of Miracles’ and ‘The Way Passes Through’ by Iakovos Campanelli. His plays have been presented at the Herodou Atticus Conservatory, the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens National Theatre, the National Theatre, the Dimitria Festival in Thessaloniki, the Aeschylus Festival in Elefsina, the Dipethe Kozani, etc. In 2018 he was awarded by the Association of Theatre and Music Critics with the ’New Creator - Karolos Koun’ award for his productions of Sophocles‘ plays ’Oedipus Tyrannus’ and ’Ajax‘. Since 2022 he is responsible for the Planning of Artistic Programming at the National Theatre of the Greek National Theatre.
