The summer schedules of the ferry have been announced Aqua Jewel of Seajets, serving the barren lines Piraeus - Kythira - Antikythera - Kissamos - Gythio, covering the period 05 May to 30 September 2025. The routes are divided into two phases:
Period A: 05/05/2025 - 06/07/2025 and 08/09/2025 - 30/09/2025
- Tuesday: The ship departs from Piraeus at 10:00, arrives in Kythera at 16:30 and departs at 17:10 for Kissamos, where it arrives at 20:15.
- Wednesday - Thursday: Line Kissamos - Antikythera - Kythira - Gythio - Kythira - Antikythera - Kissamos.
- Friday: Departure from Piraeus at 15:00, arriving in Kythera at 21:30 and Antikythera at 23:40.
- Saturday: Departure from Antikythera at 10:15, returning from Kissamos late at night to Piraeus (00:30).
- Sunday: Departure from Gythio at 15:30, arriving in Kythera at 18:00 and returning at 18:30.
➤ Exceptions:
- The Sunday 11/05/2025, the route Gythio - Kythera will be executed on 19:00 and Kythira - Piraeus on 22:30.
- The route of the Sunday 08/06 will be executed on Monday 09/06.
Period B: 07/07/2025 - 07/09/2025 (High Season)
During the peak tourist season, the programme is reinforced with more and denser routes:
- Monday - Saturday: Departure from Piraeus at 06:35, arriving in Kythera at 12:55 and Antikythera at 13:30.
- Returns from Kissamos: Departures late in the evening (23:35 or 22:35) and return to Piraeus the next day.
- Wednesday - Friday - Sunday: Regular intermediate services on the line Kissamos - Antikythera - Kythera - Gythio and vice versa.
Who travels at 6:35 in the morning? Aqua Jewel's departure time from Piraeus is causing a frenzy!
The choice to depart the Aqua Jewel from the port of Piraeus at 06:35 in the morning every Monday, Saturday and Sunday, beyond any reasonable tourist itinerary. The traveler must be at the port before 6:00, which means waking up at 4 in the morning or... spending the night in Piraeus.
It is about inopportune time, which discourages people - and especially the visitors of the island who do not stay in Athens. If one adds that there is no alternative option at a more normal time, the indignation is justified.
A departure between 08:00 - 09:00 would be much more realistic, humane and tourist efficient. Instead, we are invited to start our holidays... with an alarm clock at dawn and coffee in hand.
