Golden Dawn: The Court of Appeal decided to sentence all defendants

The appeals court found all the defendants guilty in the Golden Dawn trial.

The Five-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies, following a lengthy process that began five years ago, has now reached its decision, All 42 defendants were convicted, as in the first-instance trial.

The court, fully adopting the prosecutor's recommendation, It convicted the defendants, as applicable, of membership in and leadership of a criminal organization, intentional homicide, possession of weapons, and other specific offenses.

Magda Fyssa was present in the courtroom, while only the detained Ioannis Lagos and Ilias Kasidiaris sat in the dock to hear the verdict, with the remaining defendants being represented by their attorneys.

The court also accepted the mitigating circumstances that the trial court had recognized.

The following individuals were found guilty of leading a criminal organization: Nikos Michaloliakos, Ilias Kasidiaris, Ioannis Lagos, Christos Papas, Ilias Panagiotaros, Giorgos Germenis, and Artemis Matthaiopoulos.

The remaining 11 former members of parliament were found guilty of membership: Antonios Gregos, Eleni Zaroulia, Polyvios Zisimopoulos, Panagiotis Iliopoulos, Nikos Kouzylos, Dimitris Koukoutsis, Nikos Michos, Konstantinos Barbarousis, Stathis Boukouras, Chrysovalantis Alexopoulos, and Michalis Arvanitis.

Among the other defendants convicted of membership in a criminal organization are Pavlos Fyssas's murderer, Giorgos Roupakias; the Perama cell leader, Anastasios Pantazis; and the Nikaia cell leader, Giorgos Patelis.

The Murder of Fyssas

Regarding the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, the court handed down the same verdict as in the first instance, George Roupakias as the principal perpetrator of intentional homicide and for membership in a criminal organization, while the charges of illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm, and use of a firearm—which had been brought against him in the first instance—have been barred by the statute of limitations.

Attack on Egyptian Fishermen

Regarding the attack on the Egyptian fishermen in Keratsini, the five defendants were convicted: Dimitris Agriogiannis, Markos Evgenikos, Thomas Marías, Anastasios Pantazis, Konstantinos Papadopoulos.
