A marble plaque that had been installed a short while ago in the Moudari area was vandalized and removed by unknown individuals; at the start of the recently opened road leading to the traffic signal at Cape Spathi, next to the lighthouse.
The marble plaque was placed at the site to inform the public that the project was carried out by the Local Property Committee of Kythira and Antikythira under the chairmanship of Evangelos Venardos, with committee members Vrettos Protopsaltis, Georgios Megalokonomos, Ioannis Varda, and Dimitrios Panaretos.

According to the information provided, the road was opened by the committee to facilitate the restoration and maintenance of the signal station monument and its further utilization.
The issue of installing the marble plaque had been the subject of the satirical column «Tou Trivoula’s Pedestal» in the print edition of the newspaper «Kythiraika», in the February 2021 issue. There, «Trivolos» reports that «two friends from Platia Ammo who first laid eyes on it initially mistook it for a wayside shrine…!»
