Our island is in mourning following the news of the passing of our fellow islander Andreas Lourantos Kontaratos, who had been hospitalized with COVID-19 over the past few days at a hospital in Athens.
Andreas Lourantos was one of the most active entrepreneurs on our island, in the fields of commerce and tourism, and made significant contributions to the island’s community and life. He was the driving force behind and organizer of cultural traditions and a regular columnist for the newspaper “Kythiraika.”.
He lived with his family for most of his life in Livadi, where he ran one of the island’s first tourist accommodations.
Our condolences to his family, his children, and his loved ones.
