Very high risk (category 4) of fire tomorrow Thursday 12-8-2021 in areas of the Region of Attica.
Category 4 means that the risk of fire is very high. The number of fires expected to occur is likely to be large but, more importantly, any fire can reach large proportions if it escapes from the initial infestation.
According to the Legislative Content Act (Government Gazette A’ 138/05.08.2021) until Friday 13 August 2021:
❌ It is forbidden, throughout the entire Territory and by any means or manner, to move, cross or stay in (a) NATURA areas, (b) forests, (c) national parks, (d) aesthetic forests and (e) groves within residential areas.
❌ Any outdoor activity that may cause a fire is prohibited in the whole of the Territory, such as, but not limited to, work or activities that may cause overheating (e.g. welding) or involve the burning of flammable material (e.g. waste) or pose a risk of ignition (e.g. beekeeping).
The Notice:

It is noted that according to the Legislative Content Act (Government Gazette A’ 138/05.08.2021) until Friday 13 August 2021:
- Prohibited, in the whole of the Territory and by any means or manner, any movement, transit or stay in (a) NATURA sites, (b) forests, (c) national parks, (d) aesthetic forests and (e) groves within residential areas
- Prohibited, in the whole of the Territory, any outdoor activity that may cause a fire, such as, but not limited to, operations or activities that may cause overheating (e.g. welding) or involve the burning of combustible material (e.g. waste) or present a risk of ignition (e.g. beekeeping).
It should be noted that throughout the fire season (1-5-2021 to 31-10-2021), it is recommended that citizens and professionals avoid outdoor activities that can cause a fire through negligence such as :
- the throwing of lit cigarettes,
- the burning of dead grass and branches or cleaning residues,
- the use of sparking machines such as circular saws, welding devices,
- the use of outdoor barbecues,
- the smoking of bees
- the burning of fields.
