The newly formed Kythera Municipality School Parents' Association is pleased to present a review to the parents and children of the island for its coordinated action during the school year.

This year, with the cooperation of the parents' and guardians' associations of the schools of Kythera, the following educational - recreational activities took place:

a) Natural History Museum of Crete and the University of Crete Crete - Department of Biology

From 13 to 17 March the scientists of the Museum and the University offered free educational programmes for primary and secondary school students of the Municipality of Kythera and Antikythera entitled: «The Museum goes to School» and the following themes: Earthquake, Climate Change, Aegean Archipelago, Reproduction in the Animal Kingdom, Caves, Professional Orientation.

b) Theatrical performance «The raffle of words»

On 15 and 16 May 2023 the children of the kindergartens and primary schools of Kythera had the opportunity to watch the theatrical performance “The raffle of words”

c) «Mobile Planetarium», educational projections on a dome

On 27 and 28 May 2023 the children of the kindergartens and primary schools of Kythera had the opportunity to watch special screenings from the «Mobile Planetarium»: «The Mole» and «The Dawn of the Space Age».

New Actions

For the future, one more action is planned in cooperation with the «Orange» association, with the visit to Kythera of the Children's Rights Network's Mobile Library. Announcements will be made.
