OFYPEKA gave a negative opinion on the complex of three wind power plants in Kythera, giving new momentum to the struggle of the local community. This opinion is of great importance following the recent decision of the Council of State (556/2025), which institutionally strengthens the role of OFYPEKA in protected areas.

Another HUGE VICTORY for the island in its fight against the energy frenzy!
The Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (OFYPEKA) issued a negative opinion on the COMPLEX OF THREE SOLAR STATIONS OF TERNA ENERGY.
This opinion is of particular importance because after the recent decision of the Council of State - State Council 556/2025, the opinions of the Natural Environment Agency (OFYPEKA), which is responsible for the protected areas, were strengthened. On the occasion of the licensing of photovoltaic parks on Mount Menoikio in Serres, the Supreme Court ruled that the ministry cannot license environmentally a project for which OFYPEKA has given a negative opinion.
The struggle continues at the ATHENS ADMINISTRATIVE COURT of Appeal which seeks the annulment of the producer certificates given to TERNA ENERGY.
P.S. We dedicate this decision to all those who accused us of claiming that wind turbines cut off the milk of goats and to those who ironically used the counter argument that cats kill birds too but we do nothing about it.
