Once again it is proven that, unfortunately, it is in the temple of democracy, the Greek Parliament, that the biggest lies are told. In this particular case, the lie was told from the very first sentence in the reply of the Deputy Minister for the Environment and Energy, Mr Tagaras.
While the question of the MP of MERA25 Mr. Kriton Arsenis concerns the past and for production licences already unlawfully granted, as well as the P.A.E. has failed to examine the compatibility of the projects as required with the Special Spatial Planning Framework for Kythera, the Secretary of State in his first sentence replies as follows:
«I want to tell you from the outset that what the law says, the institutional framework mentioned in the special land use plan for renewable energy sources applies everywhere, it will also apply here. You can take that for granted and it has not changed.».
He seemed to imply that he was going to turn back the clock 15 months and reject the companies' applications.
The rest of what was said is completely irrelevant to the topical question of MEP Kriton Arsenis - encouraging, however, but it may turn out to be a lie as well - as he talks about the future.
But as the Greeks would hear today in Parliament was never asked about that but about the present and the past.
