Dimitrios Kosma Patrikios was born in Katsulianika in 1860 (the date of birth is estimated based on information). From a very young age he left for Alexandria. He was engaged in the cotton trade and managed very quickly to make a large fortune. He married Maria Yanaga, who came from Cesme in Ionia. Together they were not lucky enough to have children, so he distributed his fortune to relatives and charitable causes.
Social Offer
His interest in his homeland was special and this is evident from his charitable works and his contribution to Kythera. Thus, it was Patrikios who instituted monetary prizes for the students of the school of Potamos, while he allocated a large sum of money for the construction and operation of the Patrikias School of Karavas, which operated as an agricultural school until 1976. He also made a significant contribution to the work of the Kytheraic Brotherhood of Alexandria and was declared its great benefactor. Dimitrios Patrikios passed away on 26 September 1930 in Alexandria.
