The Holy Archdiocese of Australia is pleased to present to the Homogeneity and the wider Australian community the first official TV spot for the National Committee's 200th anniversary programme of events/activities to mark the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. This spot is offered in Greek and English, aiming to highlight to both younger and older people the national and at the same time ecclesiastical dimension of the great struggle that the 400 years of slavery in 1821 Greeks to become free and politically self-reliant again.
This first TV spot highlights some of the main characteristics of the character of Greeks and Hellenes throughout the centuries, such as valour, fortitude, self-sacrifice and philanthropy, while at the same time it stresses the need for Hellenes everywhere to remain committed to their religious faith, the universal ideals that as a civilization they have given birth to, as well as to the great vision of freedom.
