The violent demonstrations of the movement of «White Supremacy», expressed in the nation's consciousness by the violent demonstrations in Charlottesville, Virginia, coincided and combined in the mind of the ordinary American with the campaign and election of Donald Trump. In her book, «Kill All Normies», the author Angela Nagle monitors and documents the rise of this racist, misogynist movement and the role of the left in challenging it.
What people saw on the streets of Charlottesville, the author believes, is the culmination of a long subcultural battle between a form of online left-wing puritanism and right-wing nihilism. In the documentary, Fusion teams up with Nagle to examine the social and political forces that have emboldened white nationalists in the Trump era, in this follow-up to the Emmy-nominated documentary “The Naked Truth-Trumpland”
