The pianist Alexandros Kyriakopoulos was born in Athens and lived his early childhood in Kythera, where he finished the Primary School in Karvounades.
Alexander's first sonic impulses came from the pristine nature of the island. The sounds of the small paradise of Kythera Alexander perceived, recognized and read as music. This instilled in him sensitivity, passion and determination.
He took his first piano lessons at the age of five, with Eleni Kokolaki as his teacher and at the age of six he began systematic musical studies at the Anagenis Conservatory in Livadi, Kythera. He continued his piano and higher theory studies in Athens with Neville Jason Fahy, Ala Halapsi and his distinguished musician, conductor and mentor Dimitris Toufexis.
At the age of 18, Alexander received a scholarship from the A.G. Alexander received a scholarship from the Alexander Leventis Foundation to attend the Oxford Piano Festival in Oxford, England. In 2020 Alexander, after auditioning at the Boston Conservatory, was accepted on scholarship to the class of the Head of the Piano School, Michael Lewin. As a member of the high-level music community, Alexander was not only able to continue on the solid foundations of his musical education, but also to further cultivate and develop an extensive musical repertoire. These elements challenge and inspire him to realize his potential as a demanding performance artist.
During his studies he has given recitals with great success in Greece as well as abroad in the USA, Puerto Rico and Australia. Today Alexander continues to study at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he is developing into a concert pianist under the guidance of professor and soloist Michael Lewin.
