The reading of the response, this time from the Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis who in a new post on Facebook comments the second position of the minor opposition faction «Kythira-Antikythera, We Stay Here». Read below:
Nerves, lots of nerves!
The nervousness of the minority is unprecedented! Instead of looking after their own faltering house, they dare to talk about nervousness and lack of persuasion. But if anyone is nervous, it is you gentlemen of the minority. Because there is no other explanation for the many errors, lies and misrepresentations that you signed in your last press release. The mere fact that you compare Kythera with Crete and Rhodes (!) is the best proof of your nervousness! Only for global warming have you not yet accused us! Opposition of denial, toxicity and deception!
And so that there are no shadows:
1. My CV is publicly posted and KNOWN to the voters who have honored me twice to date with their vote!
2. Direct awards are based on the Law 4412/16 (passed by the previous government....) and of course ALL professionals can have commercial relations with the Municipality, NO ONE is excluded even if they are elected! As long as the elected officials do not exceed a certain amount per year. We do not intend to get the “approval” of the minor minority to work with the (few, moreover) businessmen of Kythera, many of whom do not wish to trade with the Municipality mainly due to lack of staff and inability to meet deadlines or specific technical specifications.
But they are also right about something: “they come from way back (2005)”... and so we have a lot to remember from their public life. Like for example in 2015, when our Country was one and a half foot out of the EU and their then representative on the Board accused the other 3 factions that our decision not to hand over the Municipality's money to the black hole of the public debt was not “manly”!!! Who can forget it!!!
Finally, it would be good if the small minority were not in a hurry to talk about “outgoing” because they did the same in 2019 and in the end “the crowns went back to the best man”. First of all, learn the meaning of the word: an outgoing is one who has ALREADY lost the position and is going to necessarily leave it immediately (e.g. due to elections, resignation, etc.). Whether a Mayor is “outgoing” or not will not be decided by a small minority, but by the electorate as a whole and by a majority, and in any case not before 8 October this year. So let's not show their frustration in such a populist way.
Until then, we will continue to do projects and they will continue to blame us for climate change, global warming, the wind that blows and the sun that burns....
