Ο Republican outgoing US president Donald Trump, said yesterday (Thursday) that he is now turning his attention to a «smooth» and «orderly» transfer of power, following the ratification of the result of the November 3 presidential election by Congress, a few hours after the tycoon's supporters stormed the Capitol.
In Trump's first post on the social networking site Twitter after the bloody invasion and chaos on Capitol Hill, a video uploaded, Donald Trump said that after «Congress ratified the results», «a new administration will be sworn in on January 20th», adding that «my focus is now on ensuring a smooth, orderly and uneventful transition of power», adding that this is «the time for healing and reconciliation».
In the video Trump does not pronounce his name even once Joe Biden.
He states that those involved in Wednesday's violence do not «represent» the US and will «pay».
Earlier, the White House spokeswoman Kaylie Mackenani, in a brief intervention, assured that Trump and his administration «condemn in the strongest possible terms» the incidents on Capitol Hill.
