Schools across Attica will be closed tomorrow, Monday, due to bad weather. By decision of the Attica Region Governor, following an emergency meeting with the Mayors of Attica, all public and private schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday 6 January of Primary and Secondary Education of Attica due to the difficult weather conditions.
All the kindergartens and nurseries of Attica will be closed, following a unanimous decision of the Mayors whose competence is theirs.

«By decision of the Attica Regional Governor, following an emergency meeting with the Mayors of Attica, all public and private primary and secondary schools in Attica will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 6, due to the difficult weather conditions. Closed will be and all children's and nursery schools in Attica, following a unanimous decision of the Mayors of which they are responsible.
Γ. Patoulis: «Our first priority is the safety of students and teaching staff»
On the occasion of the severe weather phenomena that began to occur this morning in Attica and the meteorological forecasts that these phenomena will worsen in the next 24 hours, by decision of the Regional Governor of Attica G. Patoulis, after consultation with the Mayors of Attica, closed will be tomorrow Monday 6 January all public and private schools Primary and Secondary Education of Attica.
Closed will be all the kindergartens and nurseries in Attica, following a unanimous decision of the Mayors of which they are responsible.
This decision was taken in order to the protection of the educational community (students and staff) from potential risks of travel to and from the schools,
At the same time it was taken into account, the fact that students, teaching staff and parents-guardians may have to move to and from areas of the Prefecture of Attica that are facing particular problems due to snowfall, snow and frost, but also the fact that, in accordance with the relevant instructions of the relevant Civil Protection Service, the movement of citizens should be limited to avoid accidents and traffic congestion.
Finally, it was considered necessary to ensure the specific decision to ensure the time required for the cleaning of the roads of the county, as well as the school yards.
