Who are the 208,529 Greeks who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Phase I

According to the precision planning completed at the operational centre for vaccination, the first vaccines of Phase B will be given from February.

The term «prioritization» is the key to the plan for the vaccination of Greek citizens, as the aim is to shield the most vulnerable groups of the population at an early stage. As is already known, the choice has already been made to vaccinate before everyone else the people who stand on the front line every day against coronavirus, i.e. doctors and nurses working in units with patients COVID-19.

The rationale is simple and linked to the major objective of keeping the ESY and hospitals, so that adequate help is given to those who are suffering from coronavirus and showing severe symptoms.

At the same time, it is typical that the aim is to complete the vaccination of elderly care facilities - including for staff - in January.

The schedule provides for exactly 21 days between the two instalments of the vaccine. It is worth noting, however, that for at least one week beyond the 21 days the second instalment can be made as normal in case it is delayed for any reason. Delay beyond ten days, however, necessarily leads to a restart of vaccination, with the recipient (re)making the first instalment and then the second instalment at a later time.

In this table, there is a provision for 150 vaccines for the Government, which probably includes the leaders of the parties, possibly the President of the Republic and, obviously, the Prime Minister who has already said he will be vaccinated in December, ministers, etc.

Those who will be vaccinated in Phase A

115,312   PUBLIC HOSPITALS -KY-AEMMI - HIV

Given that the COVID-19 vaccine is a ”double” vaccine, as it is given twice, three weeks apart (in the case of Pfizer) or even more days apart (vaccines from other pharmaceutical companies), the table below shows the vaccine completion date for each recipient - i.e. the date when the second dose of the vaccine will have been given.
