The annual inspection of the anti-pollution equipment under the jurisdiction of the Kythira Port Authority took place on Friday, October 21, 2022, in Diakofti, Kythira, in the presence of the President of the Kythira MunicipalKythira Municipal Fund, Mr. Dimitrios Kalligeros; the Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection, Mr. Ioannis Katsanevakis; and the Commander of the 2nd Coast Guard Station of Kythira, Lieutenant Commander Niki Giannakopoulou of the Coast Guard.
At the same time, a theoretical overview was provided on issues related to the protection of the marine environment, and an on-site demonstration of the equipment’s capabilities was conducted. The training seminar was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Kythira, the Kythira Municipal Port Authority, the 2nd Port Authority of Kythira, as well as members of the pollution response team: Mr. Nikolaos Notaras, Mr. Konstantinos Andronikos, and Mr. Panagiotis Sklavos.
The presentation was given by Mr. Dimitrios Kousparis, a partner at the company «Environmental Protection Engineering (LLC) S.A.» Mr. Dimitrios Kousparis, in accordance with the Contract for the Provision of Marine Environmental Protection Services for the Port Facilities of the Kythira Port Authority. The company has many years of experience in providing marine environmental protection services at most port facilities in the oil industry and beyond, at marinas, as well as at most of the country’s Port Authorities, Municipal Port Authorities, and Port Organizations.
