It was the summer of 2000 when TTV Kythira's camera captured the impressive sight of a huge whale caught by the current deputy mayor, Charalambos Souyiannis, together with his friends, Kountouroyanis and Glytsos.
An impressive shark, which, at that time, was a kind of tradition in the fishing achievements of the captain and his crew. «Last year, it was 40 points bigger,» Manolis Glytsos is heard saying at one point, as a crowd of passersby gawk at the 350-kilogram fish.
Elsewhere in the video, someone grabs the “cute” creature by the head, revealing its terrifying teeth, while uttering the legendary line: «the tooth is washed with Kolynos.».
As for how to cook it, since this particular species has no bones, Mr. Souyannis recommends grilling or pan-frying the fillet. And the secret to fishing? «That's definitely the crew,» replies the current deputy mayor meaningfully, revealing that the catch would then be shared.
