The Ukrainian military forces defending the Kharkiv have reached the border with Russia, as the regional governor said today.
Reuters was unable to verify the comments made by Oleksiy Sinegupov, the governor of the Kharkiv region, on the social media platform Telegram through an independent source.
It is not yet clear how many soldiers have arrived at the border with Russia or where exactly they are.
Ukraine is retaking territory in the northeast of the country, driving Russian forces out of Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city.
