The magistrate has already applied to the competent judicial council for approval to lift the confidentiality of the communications, telephone and electronic, of the accused in the death of Georgina. The prosecutor, George Polycrates, who yesterday was the one to whom the 33-year-old woman was brought after her apology and who, together with the magistrate, subsequently agreed to the detention of the mother of the child, will immediately submit his proposal to the judges who will decide on it.
The expectation of judicial officials is to identify from the removal of the accused's communications, usable data that will lead to safe conclusions about the 33-year-old and her movements before critical times. One point that a thorough examination of the communications could shed light on is any finding that would answer how the mother came into possession, according to the case file, of the lethal amount of the pharmaceutical substance she administered to the little girl. That is, if the data recovery results in searches by the 33-year-old woman for the substance in question and how she could have obtained it.
According to information, the police officers who searched the accused's house in Patras have seized, among other things, eight mobile phones which will be checked immediately by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police in order to recover data and identify messages and communications of the accused.
At the same time, Ms.Salappa in the coming days is expected to invite doctors from both the Karamandaneio Hospital of Patras and the Onassis and Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital, where Georgina was hospitalized in the last days before she died on 29 January 2022. Testimony will also be called to give the judicial officer and persons from the relatives of the accused, which includes the husband of the 33-year-old woman. The latter seems to have stated that he intends to go to the interrogation office in order to «get answers» about the case.
