The negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine ended after 5 hours.
The two sides are thus expected to return to their home countries, but it has been agreed to sit down again at the negotiating table in the coming days.
In this first phase of the negotiations, Russia and Ukraine identified a number of priority issues to be resolved and specific decisions were «outlined».
At the same time, as the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, said, «we have identified issues on which we can expect agreement».
It will be recalled that in the early hours of Thursday 24/02, Russia launched a military operation after the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics asked for help in dealing with Ukrainian government forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defence stressed that the operation is targeting Ukraine's military infrastructure and that civilians are not in danger.
Moreover, Moscow has made it clear that it has no plans to occupy Ukraine.
So far it is not known when the second round of talks will take place with a possible date of 1/3/2022.
