The whole planet is shocked by the news that Diego Maradona died of a heart attack.
The news was first reported by the most authoritative sports media from Argentina and in a few seconds it was all over the world. Dozens of fans who worshipped the football god were quick to express their grief on Twitter.
It is recalled that on 11 November, Diego Maradona had undergone successful head surgery after a haematoma developed.
The football legend's doctor, Leopoldo Luc, had appeared optimistic, saying: «Diego's body did very well in the surgery. Now we have to monitor him, but it's all under control. It's a routine operation, it's not complicated, but it's still a head surgery.».
The 60-year-old ace was being treated at a clinic in La Plata with problems of anaemia, anxiety and depression and, while his condition seemed to be improving, the CT scan results came back, which led him to surgery.
Although the surgery was successful, his health was deteriorating. Unfortunately, tonight it became known that Diegito's heart couldn't take it anymore and gave out on him.
Diego Maradona, Argentina's legendary 10, has died at the age of 60.
