A brief presentation of the main aspects of the work of the Ministry of Education for 2021 was published by Minister Niki Kerameos in a newsletter.
Reference is made, among others, to the New Curricula, the increase of the 2022 budget for Education, the evaluation of the school unit and the educational work, extroversion actions, the challenges of the pandemic.
In particular, of the 166 New Curricula, 123 were newly prepared and 43 were updated, for Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and High School of General Education. The New Curricula are already being piloted in Standard and Experimental schools and in 2023 they will be universally introduced in all schools, accompanied by the new textbooks.
The state budget for Education has increased by €236 million, the total Public Investment Programme amounts to €950 million, the Recovery and Resilience Fund has secured funding for 21 actions with a total budget of over €1.2 billion, while the absorption of NSRF funds has increased by €62.61TTP3T since June 2019.
Following the cooperation with universities in America, Europe and the United Kingdom, a new cooperation programme with universities in China has been launched, under which the first memoranda of understanding have already been signed.
The edupass.gov.gr platform has been created where schools and universities can more specifically monitor compliance with pandemic measures and informative online discussions on vaccination of children and adolescents have been organised.
Finally, according to Ms Kerameos, «99.5% of all school units have already completed the first phase of the evaluation».
