Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will present a series of interventions and an overall framework for how the Greek government perceives the reforms and the new cycle of growth that is opening up ahead in his speech at the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair tonight, as he said during his address to the general assembly of the Central Union of Chambers of Commerce.
«This growth should have different characteristics from the growth we have seen in the past. It should be a growth with more investment, more extroversion with a focus on the challenge of climate change and digital transformation,» the Prime Minister said.
Referring to the government, he said that «a centre-right government did not hesitate to spend considerable resources to shield the country against an unprecedented health and economic crisis».
He asked the business world to have confidence in the Greek government and in the prospects of the Greek economy, which he described as «promising».
«There may still be concerns, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that we are at the beginning of a great, an important development cycle for our country. And the great challenge for the government is that this growth should be a growth for all and that the dividend of growth should be for all, first and foremost for the new generation.».
Mitsotakis said he was pleased because the participants of the general assembly recognised the support that the government provides to businesses during the pandemic.
The Reimbursable Advance is the most successful, quick and effective measure, the Prime Minister noted.
The president of the Central Union of Chambers of Commerce, Yannis Hadjitheodosiou, thanked Mr Mitsotakis for his presence and said that it is the first time that the Prime Minister attends the general assembly of the Union.
