Professor Sotiris Tsiodras was ordained Lord of the Ophidians by Bartholomew

Lord Officialis on Tuesday, 31/08, the professor Sotiris Tsiodras by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew during the great vespers in Holy Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring of Valouklis in Istanbul. It is an honorary distinction of the Patriarchate to personalities for their work and their contribution to the church and society.

The Ecumenical Patriarch said that he hopes that other personalities will follow the example of Professor Tsiodras and praised his scientific work and his commitment to the Church.

Touched by the honorary distinction bestowed on him, Mr. Tsiodras told APE-MPA that «His Holiness has done me an honor that I do not deserve. I think the honour on the person is transferred to the whole world, not to me. It means ministry to the whole world.».

Mr.Tsiodras received the congratulations of a large number of clergy who are in Istanbul for the work of the Synaxis of the Hierarchy of the Ecumenical Throne, while tomorrow Wednesday will be celebrated in the Lantern the celebration of Indictus.
