Ban on movement in forests extended until Friday

As announced yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Nikos Hardalias, the Legislative Act that came into force on August 6 is extended until next Friday, August 13, at 06:00 in the morning. According to this act, it is prohibited throughout the country to move, cross or stay in forests, national parks, Natura areas and groves.

At the same time, any activity or work that may cause a fire, such as welding or burning of flammable material, is prohibited for the same period of time. For each infringement, in addition to the severe criminal penalties, a fine of EUR 1,000 is provided for in the first case and a fine of EUR 10,000 in the second.
