Information that spoke of attempted suicide on his part have not been confirmed.

He's going to plead mental illness
At the same time, the defense attorney of the 30-year-old, Yannis Vlachos, referring to the communication with his client said that for there to be sincere repentance on his part he needs to have full consciousness, which is not the case.
He also spoke about mental illness that has been around for a long time and noted that the necessary documents and diagnosis by experts proving it, which shall be presented to the competent authorities.

Meanwhile, information from the police investigation into the case indicates that the victim, before being pushed into the void by the 30-year-old, confessed, was punched in the face.
According to reports the medical examiner will request additional photographic material from where the 30-year-old man threw the girl overboard.
