In the summer of 2019 the student from Kavala, Myrto Furunzoglou shot to the top of the standings on national exams and went to medical school, just like he'd dreamed. But soon after, fate played a bad game as she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She fought the disease for two years, but she did not succeed.
Myrto, apart from being a top student and a medical student, was also a distinguished student of the Municipal Conservatory of Kavala.
In his condolence statement, the President of IOK Kosmas Harpantidis said the following: «The Kavala Municipal Conservatory expresses its deepest condolences to the parents and family of the unfortunate student Myrto Fourudzoglou, who was one of the most distinguished students of the DOK and was distinguished for her love of music and her ethics.».
