Published in the Government Gazette, the Act of Legislative Content which regulates the issues of digital certificate COVID, so that on 31 May we can join the first wave of European countries to use it.
The digital certificate COVID-19 will contain information on the status of the natural person - holder with regard to the vaccination, the result of the latest rapid molecular tests (rapid - test) ή molecular method of analysis (PCR test) or the disease from the coronavirus where applicable.
The European Digital Certificate COVID, is the digital proof that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19 with any of the vaccines authorised by the EU or has had a negative test or recovered from COVID-19.
With regard to the protection of personal data, the COVID European Digital Certificate will only contain the necessary basic information, such as full name, date of birth, date of issue, information about the vaccine/test/recovery and a unique identifier.
The European Digital Certificate COVID is issued free of charge in digital format and can be printed. It also has QR code with digital signature and its content will be written both in the national language and in English.
The national authorities in each country are responsible for issuing the certificate. In Greece, the European Digital Certificate COVID will be issued through gov.gr and in a few days it will be possible to issue it through Citizen Service Centres.
The European Digital Certificate COVID will be implemented at EU level on 1 July 2021.
