It continues for the the month of May, as announced by the Department of the Treasury, the provision that provides for full exemption from the obligation to pay rent for businesses subject to restrictive measures.
The direct beneficiaries are the retail trade, the food service businesses, businesses operating in the fields of culture, sports, tourism, and transportation, as well as other businesses subject to restrictive measures.
Payment of rent reduced by 40% applies only to employees' primary residence who are placed on leave in May, as well as for the student housing of their dependents.
Consequently, the major sectors of retail, food service, culture, sports, and transportation are once again eligible for the rent reduction measure in May, while it appears that the remaining sectors that are open but have been affected are now being excluded from the measure, as the 40% discount that applied to affected NACE codes does not seem to apply to them.
At the same time, with Joint Decision of Ministers of Finance and Development and Investment, they will be given the opportunity to submit application for membership in Refundable Advance Payment 7 and businesses that did not submit an expression of interest by the deadline (April 19, 2021), but entered their information in the «My Income» app on the platform «myBusinessSupport» of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, within the same time limit.
This addresses the fact that some companies were excluded from the process because they inadvertently failed to submit an expression of interest, even though they had reported their revenue data in the relevant section of the «myBusinessSupport» platform.
