Meeting at the Kythera State Airport, had on Saturday, 27/03, the renewed - with expanded composition - Initiative Committee for the 50th anniversary of the airport.
At the meeting, the objectives for the upcoming summer events were set, the role of the Municipality and local stakeholders in these events was discussed, the way of promotion and advertising by the existing communication sponsors was analysed, while ways of approaching new sponsors were explored.

In a short time, the Initiative Committee for the celebration of the 50 YEARS of Kythera Airport, resulting from the meeting of the Kythera Island Tourist Accommodation Association Cerigo, with the Airport Manager at 13 March, with an enlarged composition, more representative, except for the Mr. President and members of the Association CeriGO, with the participation of President of Tourism Committee of the Municipality of Kythera Mr. Evangelos Lourantou, and of Chief of Aircraft Ground Handling Organisation Skyserv Mr Athanasia Protopsaltis, met for the second time in Saturday 27 March in Kythera State Airport.
The meeting was held in an excellent atmosphere, with scrupulous adherence to health protocols and participants engaged in targeting various events for the coming summer.
As the official opening day of the events, it was proposed that World Music Day, the 21η June, in fact the festive weekend, because of the feast of Holy Spirit, culminating in a multi-day anniversary flight and racing event (anniversary Fly In) of the Hellenic Air Sports Federation (EL.A.O.) from 16 September up to 19 September.
Then there was a distribution of items to the attendees, in order to prepare the next meeting, with the approach of professionals, who conduct events, who are owners of event venues, the shipping companies that own the two ships, which carry out routes to Kythera, in order to contribute in their way to the success of the celebrations.
It was unanimously decided to request the κ. Mayor of Kythera, to put under its auspices all the events to be held.
During the meeting, a video call was made with President of EL.A.O. Mr. Nikos Makrakis and introductions of acquaintance with those present, who enthusiastically accepted the proposal for the anniversary Fly In and he promised to visit Kythera with his plane, after the lock down, for close consultations.
Looking forward to the next meeting soon, with further expansion of the Commission and with a representative of Domestic Property, was set as the date for finalising the programme of events, at the latest by Holy Week (end of April), taking care to attract new sponsors for the successful organisation of the events, as well as prestigious personalities for their participation in the Initiative Committee.
Regarding the Programme of Events, it was decided to print an attractive leaflet, with a map of the island on the back, with reference to the points of the events, which will be distributed with the issue of tickets, air and ferry tickets. It will also be published by the communication sponsors. It will also be printed on posters to inform residents and visitors of the island, as well as for posting on the ships of the line and at their ticket offices in Piraeus, Neapolis and Kissamos. It will also be promoted in Athens, through the Cultural Associations and the Kytheraikos Association.
