Lourantos: They give 40 million euros to the channels to stink them up

«There is a sloppiness in decision-making. You can't close a whole society with 500 cases and open it up with 3500.»

The president of the Pharmaceutical Association of Attica strongly criticized the government for the mess caused by the availability of free rapid self tests from pharmacies, as well as the attempt to shift responsibility to citizens, while the Mitsotakis government turns a deaf ear to calls for mass prescription tests.

There is sloppiness in decision making, said Kostas Lourantos, speaking to Kokkino 105.5 and George Trapeziotis, commenting on the decision for free rapid self test from pharmacies, while stressing that safety issues are primarily raised.

«The government may not understand the reasons why we in the pharmacies cannot do these tests for the citizens, but we do. We are not talking about money, we are talking about our responsibility to the citizens and our responsibility to the pharmacy workers themselves. It is a health safety issue,» said Lourantos.

Moreover, he stressed that the issue is twofold, as on the one hand questions are raised regarding the administration of tests in pharmacies and on the other hand questions are raised on the issue of safe disposal of tests - especially positive ones - by citizens in garbage bins.

«There is a sloppiness in decision-making. You can't close a whole society with 500 cases and open it up with 3500 cases. This shows the anxiety and panic of those in charge about the fact that the measures they have taken are not working,» he added, noting that now «people are at their limits. Society is on the rails, on its feet, with what is happening».

Finally, referring to what happened on Tuesday during an interview during his TV interview on SKAI, he said that «I am being bullied by the media, because I am not liked by those who are in charge, because they cannot do what they want with me. But they can do what the media want.
They can give 40 million to be stoned all day. And I'm not just talking about the Pezza list.

They dare to talk about the impoverishment of the Greek people while at the same time the government is giving money to the media from the people's money. And when I see parties owing money on loans but nobody's ears are sweating, when I see at the same time the people not having to pay for their medicine, when I see all this, I can't help but talk about the hypocrisy of the media».
