The series is set in the years 1906-1909 in Kythera and tells the story of one of the most massive murders the country has ever known. The central character of the story is Antonis, a peaceful shoemaker played by Panos Vlachos. Antonis is a likeable person until the moment he is accused of making immoral proposals to a married client. After this incident, the local community forces him on the run. He moves to Piraeus, but is unable to get back on his feet. History repeats itself in the big city, leaving Antonis angry and bitter towards the world. Unable to manage his anger, he decides to return to Kythera and take revenge.
The series was directed by Sotiris Tsafoulias, who has directed again for Cosmote and the two cycles of «The Other Me». «17 Threads» is written by Mirella Papaconomoand the Katia Kissonergi, based on the book of the same name by Panos Dimakis about a true story that took place in Kythera in 1909.
