“According to the rules, the vote will take place between 18:00 and 20:00 (20:00 and 22:00 local time) today 6 June; details to be confirmed. The votes will be counted immediately afterwards. An announcement will be made in due course,” he added.
The impeachment motion against Prime Minister Johnson offers an opportunity to put an end to speculation, Downing Street has announced.
A vote on the impeachment motion against British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expected later today will offer a chance to end months of speculation about his leadership, a spokesman for Johnson said.
“Today is an opportunity to end months of speculation and allow the government to draw a line and move forward,” the British prime minister's spokesman said in a statement.
“The Prime Minister welcomes the opportunity to plead his case to members of parliament and will remind them that when they are united and focused on the issues that matter to voters, there is no more outstanding political team,” he concluded.
