A strong statement by Vasilis Spiliotopoulos has stirred up controversy in the local government of Kythira. In a Facebook post, Mr. Spiliotopoulos expressed his indignation toward the mayor of Kythira, Efstratios Charchalakis, accusing him of failing to take substantive action on key issues facing the island.

Mr. Spiliotopoulos begins by focusing on the narrow streets of the village of Aroniadika, for which, as he notes, the mayor has promised improvement projects. Although he expresses his satisfaction with this initiative, his criticism does not stop there.
«Have you thought about the water? Are you going to do anything about it? Or is this just another case of all show and no substance?» he asks with obvious indignation.
