A dream come true
In 2004, Stavros Kyriakakis, musician and DJ, decided to create his own place. Not an ordinary café-bar, but a place that combines his love for music with the art of drinking and coffee. It started as a small, hidden bar in the lower harbour of Avlemona and today it is the reference point for all lovers of relaxation and good music. In the Arachtopoleio are born the moments and images of the best summers of our lives. .
Atmosphere that wins you over
Arachtopoleio is the ultimate relaxation spot. Chairs, sofas and cushions on the small picturesque harbor with the boats create the perfect environment to feel the summer breeze and tranquility. The music , with references to soul and ethnic and with covers that surprise you , make you sway relaxed while enjoying the magnificent view. Besides Stavros personally selects the tracks one by one creating the perfect atmosphere for every moment.
Flavours that are unforgettable
The list of drinks and cocktails at Arachtopoleio is huge and includes selected, quality labels that are hard to find in other summer bars. Over 100 labels in premium and specialty drinks , updated selections in negroni, spritz and premium gin and tonic, and a large list of signature and classic cocktails cater to the most discriminating tastes.
From 5 in the afternoon until early evening, try the homemade desserts of Mrs. Tasia. Her chocolate and orange pies have become legendary, while the slightly tweaked log is the perfect accompaniment to coffee and rum-based cocktails. This year, the traditional Kythera almond cake was added to the list of desserts, harmoniously combined with local orange marmalade and vanilla rose ice cream.

Arachtopoleio is a warm open space for those who appreciate quality and simplicity. You won't find pretentious luxury since its biggest «enemy» is pretension. Besides, wherever you look you will find people who love relaxation and good company.
One of the elements that make Arachtopoleio special is the loyalty of its customers. There are people who visit it even for 20 consecutive summers. Skippers, sailors and well-travelled visitors have described it as «probably the best bar in the Mediterranean».
The customers themselves are the best advertisement for the store. They made it famous all over Greece and beyond and they fill the shop to capacity every summer. People return again and again, bringing friends and family with them, creating a chain of word of mouth that reinforces the store's reputation.
Stavros' son, Orpheus Kyriakakis, now plays an active role in the shop, continuing the tradition and ensuring that the shop will remain a favourite destination for many years to come.
The party for the 20 years of operation
On June 15th, the big party was held at the Arachtopoleion for its 20 years of operation.
A great live show with Giotis Kiourchoglou, David Lynch, Christian Ronig, Stavros and Orpheus Kyriakakis and the wonderful Roosey Blue with the scarlet nights. All our loyal friends and new guests honored us with their presence in this celebration. The 20th anniversary party was not only a celebration of the Spider Shop, but also a celebration of all of us who have made it a part of our lives. It was a chance to meet again, share stories and memories, and enjoy the atmosphere that keeps us coming back every summer.
